A
History of Anteros Island
If its good enough
for the gods
-Jay Ramsey, owner of The Royal Capeside Resort
Welcome to a paradise unlike any other in the
world. Anteros Island is an adults only destination where every
wildest dream and fantasy can be fulfilled. Secluded and lush in its
secrets, the island is home to some of the most attractive desires you
will ever have.
Regarded by native peoples as the consummation grounds of the gods,
myth states that the island was formed when a god of rhythm, Joyboy,
descended to the sea and drummed up the blood of the immortals. The
passion built until they had no choice but to answer his call and give
in to their desires. Anteros rose up to catch the power of the gods
trysts and absorbed the mystical energy that remained. Legend still
holds that any item taken from the island will be imbued with the power
of a divine sex drive and is considered to be a powerful aphrodisiac.
First permanently settled by Dutch pirates around 1690 (and then known
only as Wide Cove Island ), Anteros flourished as a hidden port for
infamous buccaneers like William Kidd and Henry Morgan. The island retained
its pirate community long after most ports of call had been legalized
because of its relative isolation from the rest of the Caribbean . Anteros
most famous pirate, Captain Marcus Finch, remained an active buccaneer
until 1753 when he was finally cornered by British officials in Anteros
main cove. It was then that he set his ship on fire in a final show
of defiance and sank with it to the depths.
The wreckage remains there to this date.
Renamed Anteros in the early 1800s, the island was viewed by European
aristocracy as a new Eden . Despite the bounties of sugar, pearls, and
tropical fruit available on Anteros, the island was never converted
into a plantation settlement, but instead remained a popular rejuvenation
site for travelers. Since then, Anteros has hosted famous diplomats,
celebrities, and even royalty and has earned a reputation for indulgence
and luxury beyond a mans wildest imagination.
Anteros has retained its seclusion and pristine beauty throughout the
Caribbean s history. Covered in untouched jungle and surrounded
by crystalline seas, it has become a pinnacle of natural beauty blending
with the modern world. The island revitalized in the early 90s
thanks to a flourishing cruise market which has brought new and exciting
attractions to the Caribbean . But Anteros has not needed to reinvent
itself in order to lure guests to paradise.
Now one of the Caribbean s must see sights, Anteros offers five
star resorts and world class entertainment. An island filled with adventure
and luxury, Anteros promises that even the gods would still come here
for their pleasures.
